Cryo Transfer Holders
SINGLE PARTICLE/ TOMOGRAPHY/ MICRO ED
The Simple Origin cryo holders can be loaded with two TEM grids – either standard grids or Autoloader grids for ultra stable cryo imaging. These holders have a long liquid nitrogen (LN2) holding time (10+ hrs), effective cryo protection of samples during cryo transfer and low tip profile. The holder accessories include a workstation with built-in LED and heater and separate units for temperature readout of tip temperature and activated carbon regeneration. The grid clamping is optimized for ease of use under LN2 conditions. The axis symmetric design of the dewar helps provide a stable center of mass of the dewar for a given level of LN2 while tilting the holder during tomography data collection. In addition, the ultra low rate of LN2 evaporation helps to increase the stability and performance of the holder due to the near constant center of mass during a tilt series.

Cryogenic inert gas/Vacuum Transfer Holders
The new Cryogenic Inert Gas/Vacuum Transfer TEM Holder, helps protect environmental sensitive samples. It is optimized for sample loading/unloading in a glove box in the presence of an inert gas. This is especially helpful for BATTERY RESEARCH involving new materials for optimizing energy storage. This holder can also be used to observe BEAM SENSITIVE MATERIALS within the TEM. Keeping the samples at cryo temperatures during imaging minimizes beam damage.

Cryo Holders Pumping Assembly
Simple Origin offers a dedicated Pumping Chamber solution (Model 4xx) for up to two TEM holders, which serves not only the purpose of storage, but also allows easy as well as sophisticated cryo holders warmup and regeneration of the dewar internal carbon or zeolite material.
- Consists of DN 63 ISO-K flange (towards turbomolecular pumping station) and DN 25 ISO-KF flange (towards vacuum gauge). Two pumping chambers can be stacked onto a pumping station to allow pumping of up to four holders.
- Transparent housing around the tip areas allows convenient observation.
- Each holder has a dedicated port for pumping the dewar. Each of these pumping ports has a manual vacuum valve.
- Supplied with hose and two blind plugs.
- Compatible with various TEM and cryo holders.
- Can be configured to accept one holder each from two different TEM manufacturers.

Cryo-microscopy is a powerful technique for the determination of three-dimensional structure of biological molecules at near atomic resolutions. It has been successfully used to create 3D structures of various viruses and proteins to help advance the research pertaining to its prevention and cure. A vital requirement for devices on microscope to achieve imaging biological samples is cryogens like liquid nitrogen. These devices typically have a limited cryogen capacity that can last only up to 2-3 hrs. This limits the window of automatic data acquisition to 2-3 hours and also prevents the use of microscopes during nights. These devices which include “Anti-Contamination Device (ACD)” and specimen holders, typically have a limited cryogen capacity that can last only up to 3-5 hrs. This limits the window of automatic data acquisition to 3-5 hours and also prevents the use of microscopes during nights.

Variable Temperature Cryo Transfer Holders
The new Variable Temperature Cryo Transfer Holder allows for specimen phase change investigations at user specified cryogenic temperatures. It has a temperature diode and a heating element in close proximity to the sample for precise sample temperature measurement and regulation. A resistive heater allows for the use of temperature control over the whole standard 3mm grid.
